Our History:
Something you may not know about us is that our childcare center came to be through many years of hard work and commitment to the education of children. This dream held by Linda Palmer, owner and director, started many years ago. Linda Palmer has been servicing the community with fantastic childcare for over forty years. With very humble beginnings, Linda started off this journey with home daycare. Then worked at Villas Preschool in Fort Myers for 16 years to develop all the hands-on skills and techniques needed to start her own center. The Palmer family happily opened their own facility in 2000. A location we eventually outgrew; we have provided childcare at our current location since 2007.
Our Certifications:
• State licensed and regulated by the Dept of Children and Families (DCF)
• Licensed and regulated by the Health Dept
• Member of Florida Association for Child Care Management (FACCM)
• Awarded in 2002 for Healthy Workplace
• Certificate for Emergent Literacy
• Member of the Lee County Chamber of Commerce
• Member of the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida
• Recognition of accomplishments and dedication for providing quality child care in Lee County
• We participate in Florida VPK Program (Voluntary Pre-K)

Our Teachers:
The quality of a teacher makes the difference in your child’s happiness. Our teachers come to us with a variety of early childhood backgrounds, but they all have at least one thing in common… a love of working with children and a passion for teaching.

Our Program Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum

Young child plays on the floor with blocks at childcare, Fort Myers FL
Our philosophy as educators and caregivers of your child is to provide them with the best possible care and exceptional first learning experiences. Our commitment is to form lifelong learning experiences allowing every child to become independent, self confident and inquisitive learners. To achieve the highest goals, we have chosen to use Creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum is a blueprint
for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program. Its effectiveness in helping children acquire social competence and the skills they need to succeed as learners is well documented. This framework represents five main components:

Our Five Areas of Focus

1. How Children Develop and Learn
What preschool children are like in terms of their social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development, and the characteristics and experiences that make each child unique.
2. The Learning Environment
The structure of the classroom that makes it possible for teachers to teach and children to learn. This includes how teachers set up and maintain interest areas in the classroom, establish schedules and routines, organize choice times and small and large group times, and create a classroom community where children learn how to get along with others and solve problems peacefully.
3. What Children Learn
The body of knowledge included in national and state standards and research reports for six content    areas - literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, and technology - and the process skills children use to learn that content. Children learn content and skills through daily experiences.
4. The Teacher's Role
How careful observations of children lead to a variety of instructional strategies to guide children's learning. Teacher and child interaction is extremely important to their development.
5. The Family's Role
The benefits of developing a partnership with every family and working together to support children's optimal development and learning. This includes getting to know the families, communicating with them regularly, partnering on children's learning, and responding to challenging situations.

The curriculum provides experiences that enrich and enhance each child's social/emotional, physical, cognitive, language and creative development. Within the center's daily schedule, each child has opportunities to be creative, explore the environment, learn problem solving and personal interaction skills, enhance their early literacy skills and learn concepts through first-hand experiences in math, science, technology and social studies.
Children develop a positive self-concept through a balance of self and teacher initiated activities. Opportunities for solitary play as well as group activities are provided. Our teachers serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to each child's individual needs.

The physical environment of our classrooms make it possible for teachers to teach and children to learn. A setting that is safe, attractive, comfortable and well designed with plenty of space helps children to engage in the activities that each teacher offers. By dividing physical space into interesting learning centers, children want to explore, make things, experiment and pursue their own interests.

Separate interest areas offer children a variety of clear choices, establish schedules and routines, organize choice times, small and large group times, and creates a classroom community where children learn how to get along with others and solve problems together. As a result, they are helped to become independent and confident learners.
