2s Daycare Fort Myers FL

Why Choose us?

Here at Palmer Preschool & Childcare, we are much more than a daycare. Our 2 year olds are cared for by warm, nurturing teachers who are invested in the developmental growth of each child. We use Creative Curriculum to meet the daily needs and development of each child. This curriculum is not only research-based but one of the most widely used in the nation. Through ongoing user-friendly assessments, our teachers are able to help each child achieve their age-appropriate milestones and to communicate that progress to parents.

How Our 2 Year Olds Learn and Grow

2 years old plays with calendar at daycare, Cape Coral.
Our two-year-olds have the opportunity to explore, discover, and develop as active learners. Through hands-on educational activities through large- and small-group opportunities, we are able to provide our twos with a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate to their learning level.
We work to promote creativity and independence in your child to learn as they grow, and we prioritize communication with parents to keep our kids on-track.

STEAM for 2 year olds

child holds out hand to catch rain outside during 2's STEAM at our day care, Cape Coral FL.
STEAM for our Twos group is important because they are curious about everything around them and are reaching a point of capability to verbally investigate! They will want to find out answers with questions like “how” and “why” and to understand more about what they are doing. Our STEAM program works to promote minds that want to learn more at every given opportunity.
For example, as they learn to stack diverse and complex towers we will introduce adding ramps to the construction. This will start to introduce concepts of physics and velocity as they observe how objects travel faster or slower down different angled ramps.

Our Knowledge on Toddler Child Care

Two-year-olds like new activities but they love routine, and our curriculum is crafted to balance both. Our days have set schedules that your child will become familiar with and recognize, as well as set activities like washing their hands after going to the bathroom. At this age, your child is beginning to learn better ways to communicate their needs, and our staff is here to help coach them on that.
2's group makes art and shares at our daycare in Fort Myers FL.
Your child will rely on set boundaries and past experiences as they begin learning about appropriate and inappropriate behavior - which is information they can now retain! We will help them learn to pick up after themselves, say please and thank you, and the valuable skill of sharing. At age 2 your child may also be ready to begin toilet training and our staff will work with both you and your child to get them comfortable and ready for this big-kid transition.
Your child’s social skills will noticeably start to develop as they begin to play pretend and other simple games with their classmates. Our classrooms will be where they make their first independent friendships! Your child will start constructing longer sentences and their language skills will grow as they listen to stories being read aloud and as they start looking at books on their own. Their listening skills will improve with this and as their verbal skills improve from these activities, your child will even start to tell you about their day!
We know repetition and consistency are important for your child's development. This includes when they're at home. Here's a link to our favorite activities for you to reinforce and continue learning with your child! If you'd link more learning resources, head over to our Resources page here.
